How to monitor Domains in Akamai Cloud

Site24x7 continuously monitors Domains in Akamai Cloud by tracking operational status and downtime in real time so IT teams can detect DNS or domain-level disruptions before they affect user access across services.

Use cases

Here are some use cases for Domains monitoring:

  • Domain status: The Summary tab provides a quick overview of your domain's availability and status, helping teams quickly detect outages and avoid extended service disruptions.
  • SLA reporting: Availability data over selected periods helps teams measure domain uptime against SLA targets, supporting reporting, compliance, and reliability checks.

Benefits of Domains in Akamai Cloud monitoring

  • Service availability: Detect DNS zone outages before they impact application accessibility and user traffic routing.
  • Issue identification: Track downtime trends to distinguish isolated incidents from recurring DNS reliability problems.
  • Early warning: Receive alerts when domains become unavailable, enabling rapid remediation before users are affected.

Setup and configuration

Domain resources are auto-discovered and monitored during the Akamai integration. To enable monitoring, follow the steps below:

Data collection frequency

Based on the configured poll interval, performance metrics of your Akamai Domain are collected and updated in the Site24x7 portal every five minutes by default.
