How to Monitor Block Storage in Akamai Cloud

Site24x7 continuously monitors your Akamai Cloud Block Storage status and availability, alerting IT teams right away when volumes become unreachable, so they can act before it impacts access.

Use cases

Here are some use cases for Block Storage monitoring:

  • Storage availability: The Summary tab shows the status and availability of your block storage in real time, helping teams quickly spot when volumes become unavailable before applications are affected.
  • Downtime accountability: Tracking Downtime counts and duration provides teams with a clear timeline of storage outages, making it easier to review incidents and plan for improved redundancy or replication.

Benefits of Block Storage in Akamai Cloud monitoring

  • Application continuity: Detect volume outages before they cause read/write failures or application disruptions, enabling timely alerts and supporting outage tracking.
  • Faster recovery: Get alerted when volumes become unreachable via application continuity detection, reducing remediation time and feeding data to outage tracking and SLA reporting.

Setup and configuration

Block Storage resources are auto-discovered and monitored during Akamai integration. To enable monitoring, follow the steps below:
